The controversial Instagram photo has now been deleted, another photo about acceptance has been loaded. But that doesn't wash away her hateful comments. Imagine being a transgendered person and having someone in the entertainment industry dispute your Gender preference because you weren't born with the anatomy and faced the hardships of said sex. Because no matter what I believe that transgendered people have a harder time at life. There as some seriously scary statistics out there.
Bruce Jenner can not help that he was born with male anatomy, he also can not help that he feels more female minded or the fact that he had to live in very transphobic times that has made coming out all that harder. He has spoke openly about his struggles so that others know that its ok. This kind of decision is hard and instead of condemning people, we should be supporting.
We are all fighting personal battles. Bruce Jenner's bravery to share some of his journey with the world is worth noting as a turning point for transgendered people and hopefully will help people understand gender dysmorphia.
Though like homophobia, transphobia is probably far from being eliminated. Though we can dream to live in a more tolerable society as Bruce received such a positive response as well as many stars taking to social media to congratulate Bruce after his interview.
Whats worse is that Alice Eve also showed a great misunderstanding of feminism and many of her fans seemed to be in agreement, with so many young starlets declaring there not feminist it is so important that the ones who are not afraid to say they are... get it right. Feminism is the equality of men and women, its giving each gender the chance to be who they want to be!
So Alice Eve, one last thing whilst your PR try and dig you out of that hole you just dug. If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all!
Check out this great YouTube channel called MyGenderation a great channel that discusses so many topics surrounding gender.
[Disclaimer: When talking about Bruce Jenner I have used male pronouns as nothing has been released yet that he would prefer female pronouns]
