Gift Ideas for Mother day

Gift Ideas for Mother day

When it comes to Mothers day I look at it as a pamper pack. Giving my lovely mother a box of stuff that she can use to help make herself beautiful throughout the day. Its normally a combination of a few higher priced items and high street stuff.

With less than a week to go here are just a few ideas for you to treat your mother.

1. Wine - A bottle of there fave to sip at whilst they have a long bath or are just chilling on the sofa.

2.  Perfume - A bottle of an old favourite or a new scent that they've had there eye on. It's always lovely to receive some lovely scents.

3.Nail Varnish - Get some nice spring colours to add to their collection.

4. Lip balm - Practical but perfect as Winter draws to a close a lady still needs to keep care of her lips

5.  Chocolate - Sod the diet, give them a box of there favourites, Lindt are special occasion only in our house

6. Bath Bomb - This is something I include in most Mother day packs, as you can't go wrong with a lovely bath bomb, and it gives me time to over indulge when I go into Lush.

7. A face Mask - I'm a little obsessed about including face masks, and I really want to try and get my mum a collagen one this year. But any face mask works a treat and allows them to really relax.

Hope you and your Mothers have a fab Mothers Day and remember to treat her like the queen she is.

Take a Break: Skin Care

Being a little strapped for cash with it being the festive season I was left sort-of neglecting buying my cleanser and just using face wipes. Which do serve a purpose they just don't do an amazing job.

So after my face decided to have a bit go a major breakout I decided I just had to go and get some and have a little TLC time with my skin.

I have combination skin normal and oily. Have suffered from spots since I was about 10 and have when through many different brands, creams, cleanses. Some made my skin breakout in not
only spots but rashes. Irritating my already irritated skin. Some came in at too hefty a price, some just didn't seem to do much at all.  Skin care is all about what works for the person, and of course not breaking the bank trying to find it.

I started using No7 Beautiful Skin Normal/Oily products at the beginning of the year and have used them on and off again as I am terrible at keeping up with skin care routines. My mind often goes to a place where I think my skin is terrible so why try. Which is the worst attitude to have because then it gets worse and days like these need to happen.

My Face TLC routine:

I first use a face wipe to remove most of my make-up. I wear a full face most days as thats my preference and how I feel most comfortable. Though I know its not necessary whats best for my skin. Then I use the Cleansing Water to properly rid my face of any remaining make-up and then I use the cleansing foam to help refresh my face and make it feel less dry, which I sometimes feel the Cleansing water does.

I then exfoliate both my skin with the No7 exfoliator. And my lips with the amazing Bubblegum lip scrub from Lush, which leaves my lips feeling amazing, especially in the winter when my lips dry up and go a bit chapped.

I then do a combo mask putting the Pore vacuum mask on my T-zone are and the Purifying mask on the rest of my skin. My favourite thing about the purifying mask is that it heats up as you rub it into your skin. Then I leave that whilst I have an relaxing bath, because how else would you complete a pamper session.

Once I take the masks off, the worlds most satisfying feeling I think is removing the Pore Vacuum mask as you peel it. Then take the Purifing mask off with just water.  I once again  using the cleansing water to make sure my skin is fresh and clean and then moisturese.

I can literally hear my skin thanking me as yes I can sometimes be found going to bed without removing my make-up which I know is such a huge faux-pas.

A little ME time!

I've been working so much recently, that when I am at home I'm sleeping. So I thought I need to take a moment for myself. And just unwind.

So I ran myself a nice bath, popped in a Zoella Fresh Fizz, poured myself a peach schnapps and lemonade in my mason jar cup, got my copy of Wild, so I could finally finish those one hundred pages, propped up my I-pad and put a movie that I didn't need to pay to much attention to on. Then I fixed my hair into a messy bun and cleansed my face, then put on a Masque B-A-R - Anti-blemish mud mask.

It was bliss. Taking a minute to properly fix my little time to myself to unwind from everything. Finishing my book was great I thoroughly recommend Wild -  a journey from lost to found by Cheryl Strayed. An amazing story that took me a little longer than it should to finish but was so worth getting there. Now to watch the movie.

It's made me understand that even though life feels hectic taking a moment to focus on self care is highly imported. So remember to treat yourself, take a "selfish" moment and just get away from it all.

Girl Unmasked!

This is a post I have always thought about writing, I imagined myself going without make-up for a day where my life was in full swing instead of a homey day and see how it went. I figured that my no make-up me would be a lot like how I imagined no-phone me, relaxed and unbothered by the situation.  Though I know my anxieties about being make-up less I just thought when it happened i'd feel... empowered? Well, I was wrong.

My alarm didn't go off and to make it to work in time I went without make-up, I chucked some basic products in my bag, but was unable to pop something on whilst making my way there I started my shift with only moisturiser on... something I have never did and I have worked there 4 years.

I felt uncomfortable before I even began the shift. I became so aware of my skin. When I finally made it start my shift that only heightened... I work with the pubic, there's not a point at work where I am not interacting with someone.

To my surprise no-one mentioned my make-up-less-ness, but that didn't stop me from thinking about it every second. After 15 minutes I was thinking of excuses to be able to pop away and get some foundation on at least. After half an hour I was stressing so much about it I began to feel ill. After an hour I wanted to run and hide.

I didn't think it would effect me this much. I thought after  a while I wouldn't notice, its not as if I can see my own face, and I was the only one bothered by it.

Two hours into my shift I was sent for my break, instead of being annoyed how ridiculously early I was being sent for it, relief just washed over me. I popped onto the shop floor to buy some mascara and spent the half hour break putting on my make-up.

I had forgotten brushes and some parts of my usual make-up routine. So I didn't feel 100% comfortable still. But I felt so much better, I went on to continue my shift feeling more confident in my self, feeling a lot more like me.

So to be honest I don't care that I couldn't last a whole day without make-up, one day I will and I won't care... maybe I won't have such spot prone skin and be in the middle of a bad break-out. I'd rather feel comfortable, and that's what make-up does.

SO my conclusion is that whither your prefer sporting a full face of make-up or none at all, your preference is whats important, you get to be in control of you.
