One Step At A Time // Project 366 // Day 2

The major downfall of most New Year Resolutions is trying to do them all at once and perfectly. Listing 10 things and expecting yourself to be able to keep it up means that very quickly you can't maintain, you begin to drop things and eventually stop trying because you feel like your failing.

Instead take it one step at a time.

Resolution to get healthier: maybe you go to the gym once this week and start building it up, maybe you make your lunches to keep you away from temptation when your trying to buy one quickly on a break. Maybe all you do this week is go a walk, but next week set a new goal, then another and then another. Little steps all add up.

Resolution to save money: look at your budget, see where you spending your money this is the first step you need to do. Money advice posts where they tell you to cut your daily £4 coffee are no help when you don't have a daily £4 coffee. Look at small places to cut so you can begin to save. Then repeat.

Whatever it is break it down in to steps, and then that's all you have to do take it one step at a time, your allowed to stumble you may even take a few steps back. But stay on the path.

Resolutions // 365 Project // Day 9

I stood at the bus stop waiting to go to work. Not nearly as refreshed as I had hoped.  When I watched a man struggle to cycle up the hill, but with determination he went for it anyway.

It got my thinking about resolutions, maybe this was his. Chilly afternoon cycle maybe he was all in.

Then I thought about my many snoozes on the alarm clock and cancelled spin class. After a bad nights sleep I had decided to put a halt to going back to the gym... till tomorrow, in hopes of sleeping a little bit longer and feeling a bit better.

But I still feel just meh, maybe getting up and going would have made me feel better.

My main resolution this year is to work on me, and get myself into a better place, physically, financially, mentally. And any other -ally ways that will work to benefit me. The months nearly in double digits and I’m not beating myself over not starting properly yet.

There are many days still to come and I’m not about to feel defeated a week and a half into the new year.

I hope what ever you want from this year, you are working towards to achieve. Small steps or big steps there all steps.

xoxo
