March Favourites

Walking Boots : Honestly didn't know the value of a good pair of walking boots before these beauties, they are so comfy, waterproof, and my feet easily blister these didn't give me a single one after 11 and a half miles walk. I feel like I could go conquer the Pacific Crest Trail, Cheryl Strayed style in these babies. They only cost about £35 as well so cheaper than most shoes I own and of such better quality.

Batiste : Where would a girl be without her trusty dry shampoo, well a lot more bad hair days what happen. I always reach for batiste its my go to.

Zoella, Let's Spritz : I was a honest to go skeptic about Zoella beauty when I first tried it out last year and though some products I find to be pointless (bath fizz) this is amazing over christmas it was down to just over £3 on feel unique and the most I've seen it at is £8 such a good price for something that will last you a while and you can keep your good perfume nice.

Naked 2 - Urban Decay : Naked 3 is my go to palette, I know how I'm doing my make-up with it, so its easy to use it day in and out. I've been trying to push myself into using my other palettes and working out how they work and what goes with what. I'm really loving the Naked 2 Palette, the whole Naked collection is really a fail safe.

Brow Zings - Benefit : Brows are such a staple in my make-up routine and this trusty little kit has been my go to for the past 2/3 years I love it, I've tried others but always go back to this, I also go to the benefit brow bar to get them brows shaped, so I really trust there products.

Five Favourite Easter Treats

Easter Sunday is tomorrow so I though I'd quickly share my five favourite easter goodies... all chocolate I'm afraid [But stay tuned for a Special Easter Lush Haul] but these goodies are just to hard to resist considering the stores are basically now stocking them from January.

Golden Eggs - Relatively new to my tastebuds I can't tell if I love them a huge amount. But there certainly tasty and they look so pretty.

Creme Eggs  - People complain that they have changed to be honest I don't really notice it... I do however notice the change from the 6 pack to 5. But they still are one of the best easter goodies around.  Though far to easy to devour.

Hollow Egg - Who can resist a good old fashioned egg... the satisfying feeling to crush it and eat the shards is far to tempting... I love these cheap little dairy milk ones, guaranteed good chocolate.

Mini Eggs- I honestly have no will power when it comes to a bag of these, they are by far my favourite easter treat.  Bonus if you make nests and place them in it.

Lindt Bunny - Is it not a rule that you can't let the easter season go by without one of these little guys. Perfectly packaged and luxuriously rich chocolate. Plus this guy looks gorgeous on your mantel top.

So run out and grab whatever you fancy before they disappear from our shelves for another year.

#MusicMonday Daydreamer Believer - The Monkees

On Friday morning I had the unfortunate task of starting work at 6am, not something that I had been looking forward to.. who wants to go to work in the dark? But there I was before the customers. Well I showed up early, the shop opens at 6am. The nightshift are allowed to play music over the intercom (a privilege the rest of us only get at christmas... which after day two losses a bit of its appeal!) and at 6am this song came on, either by coincidence or a well timed play list.

"the six o'clock alarm would never ring" made me laugh and then even in my hazy half asleep state I found myself singing along to this catchy tune.

I love "Daydreamer Believer" its a song thats truly stood the test of time, first released in 1967,  28 years before I was born and now here I am 20 years later and can still recite all the lyrics.

When researching this song (Looking up when this was initially released) I heard the re-recorded John Stewart version, released in 1971, as this was one of the last songs he released whilst he was with the monkees and decided to do it his way I guess when he went solo.  His version with some lyrics changed is way more country and a little bit more bitter about love. But also really good.

Any who today also awakes me to a 6am shift. And as much as I don't want my alarm to go off it will "ring and I rise, wipe the sleep out go my eyes" and I'll get on with the day.

#MusicMonday Dare You To Move - Switchfoot

Before the day is over here's a quick music monday to get you's going and to add my most recent vlog into, shameless promo really.

Can you believe this song came out in 2003 (I was 8) I think I was first really introduced to it whilst watching One Tree Hill it played during a scene and I remember googling the lyrics afterwards.

I've added the Megan Hilty version to my latest vlog, of walking the last 11 and a half miles of the Great Glen Way, for charity.

So enjoy. (Not much to the Vlog as the Scottish rain kinda made it impossible to film for most of the walk)

#MusicMonday : When I'm Gone - Joey and Rory

In my early teens I went through a country phase... one I've never fully shaken, Country is just such an amazing genre. The first song of Joey and Rory's I ever stumbled upon was "Cheater Cheater" which is such a fun song and one that easily gets caught in your head.

I remember then watching videos of there journey on "Can You Duet" and thinking how genuinely in love they looked at each other. I never followed thee personal lives much but kept going back to there songs such as "See You There", "To Say Goodbye" and "This songs for you".

A few months ago I rediscovered this "When I'm Gone" and read one of the top comments which mentioned Joey's cancer diagnosis. I went to there Facebook page and have since been following Rory's blog, the man has a way with words.  There faith and attitude in the final months of Joey's life was awe inspiring.
On Friday Joey sadly lost her fight to cancer, and my deepest apologies to there family and Friends. Joey seems to have made a huge impact on everyone she has met.  And the world a little worse of without her.

When Joey and Rory originally recorded this weeks Music Monday "When I'm gone" it was written by Sandra Lawrence whilst caring for her dying mother. The couple choose it to go on there album "His and Hers". When it came to making the beautifully devastating video it was decided on the day that it was going to be filmed in a way that it was Joey singing to Rory.

A gift from Joey to Rory and her girls. They now have her singing that it will all be fine whenever the days get to hard and they need to be reminded.

Monthly Motivation | Fall down seven times, Stand up eight.

February got off to a good start, I was so motivated I was still doing my 30 days vegan, felt great because of it. I was just keeping everything up to date and that was key to success. Then everything fell apart around the 12th and just kept going downhill, keeping organising became harder and harder as I had less time than I had expected, a little stressed the rest of the month was a little bit harder to keep to.

The diet was the first to be thrown out the window with so many birthdays and nights out, cheeky wee habits just became the n
orm to get through.

I felt worse, more tired and sluggish and because of the late night drinking early morning gym sessions went out the window quite a lot.

Its really only in the last few days that I seem to have got a grip on it all again. I’ve still got a lot to do but I don’t feel as overwhelmed.

The realness in life is that any time you fall down, you need to pick yourself back up and not let yourself feel overwhelmed or defeated.

Time for a new month to start and many new experiences to have.
