May Favourites

May favourites are here!!! It's like I nearly forgot or something...

1) Clapper Board: The first few days of May were spent filming "The Audition Tape" a new web-series by 1995 Productions coming Summer 2015, hopefully! It was such a fun - stressful at times - experience. I can't wait to get the edit together and see the finished product. After filming so much for college or just vlogging it was great to make something creative that was just a passion project.

2) MacBook Pro: I genuinely don't know how I would have got through the last few months without this lil' baby. Paperwork, editing, blogging, music listening, movie watching. It does it all. As the last lap of college came in I was editing my final project heavily as well as handing in every last bit of paper work at times I felt like I wasn't of this sometimes frustrating machinery.

3) Business cards: I am now a fully fledged adult poised and ready to social network with my beautiful little business cards! ughhh I love them, I even bought a car holder so they sit nicely on my desk and another card holder than goes in my bag and keeps them all protected.... now to find networking events.

4) Chasers of the Light (Poems from the typewriter series) -Tyler Knott Gregson: I recently ranted in a vlog that I don't have time to read a book. So this has been a great little companion as I do have time to read a poem or two in the spare moments that I do have. I got this a few months ago, I ordered it online and it finally arrived after a particularly bad morning and ever since it never fails to just make me happier.

5) The Last Five Years (Movie): I feel like I have been waiting a lifetime for this movie. TL5Y is honestly one of my most favourite musicals ever. Anna Kendrick and Jeremy Jordon are perfect within there roles and this movie defiantly didn't disappoint. Jason Robert Brown the creator even has a brilliant cameo. So if you do anything in June, find a store go on Amazon, GET THIS MOVIE! I have watched it a gazillion times since I bought it.

Girl Unmasked!

This is a post I have always thought about writing, I imagined myself going without make-up for a day where my life was in full swing instead of a homey day and see how it went. I figured that my no make-up me would be a lot like how I imagined no-phone me, relaxed and unbothered by the situation.  Though I know my anxieties about being make-up less I just thought when it happened i'd feel... empowered? Well, I was wrong.

My alarm didn't go off and to make it to work in time I went without make-up, I chucked some basic products in my bag, but was unable to pop something on whilst making my way there I started my shift with only moisturiser on... something I have never did and I have worked there 4 years.

I felt uncomfortable before I even began the shift. I became so aware of my skin. When I finally made it start my shift that only heightened... I work with the pubic, there's not a point at work where I am not interacting with someone.

To my surprise no-one mentioned my make-up-less-ness, but that didn't stop me from thinking about it every second. After 15 minutes I was thinking of excuses to be able to pop away and get some foundation on at least. After half an hour I was stressing so much about it I began to feel ill. After an hour I wanted to run and hide.

I didn't think it would effect me this much. I thought after  a while I wouldn't notice, its not as if I can see my own face, and I was the only one bothered by it.

Two hours into my shift I was sent for my break, instead of being annoyed how ridiculously early I was being sent for it, relief just washed over me. I popped onto the shop floor to buy some mascara and spent the half hour break putting on my make-up.

I had forgotten brushes and some parts of my usual make-up routine. So I didn't feel 100% comfortable still. But I felt so much better, I went on to continue my shift feeling more confident in my self, feeling a lot more like me.

So to be honest I don't care that I couldn't last a whole day without make-up, one day I will and I won't care... maybe I won't have such spot prone skin and be in the middle of a bad break-out. I'd rather feel comfortable, and that's what make-up does.

SO my conclusion is that whither your prefer sporting a full face of make-up or none at all, your preference is whats important, you get to be in control of you.

#MusicMonday - Bad Blood - Taylor Swift

I can't be the only person who when Taylor Swift announced Bad Blood was going to be the next music video of 1985 thought it was a bad idea. Bad blood is not one of the better songs of the album.... then came the hoards of announcements about who was also guest starring. Before it was even up it just felt over rated.

Now I love it, Kendrick Lamar makes the song better. And the video feels epic, and not over crowded. Its full of bad ass bitches and great graphics.

Enjoy x

April Favourites

I can't believe May is nearly over and I still haven't got my April favourites up. Genuinely the last few weeks have been a blur, just a big blur of coursework, filming and never ending shifts. So much so I can't really tell what I was loving in April... this is why I should have done this sooner.  So here's a few things I could think of.

Canon Powershoot G7X - This little beauty got delivered in April and I am actually so obsessed with it. Portable, easy to use, great zoom, built in microphone is good for vlogs (as long as you don't cover the mic) But this is a brilliant little camera that I thoroughly recommend.

No7  Beautiful Skin Day and Night Moisturiser  (Normal/Oily) - I've been using these products for a while now, but I am only now some how getting into a proper routine with it and my skin all the better for it. What I especially love about No7 is that you are getting a great quality product that doesn't come with a major price tag.

No7 Beautiful Skin T-Zone Rescue - I have a particularly bad T-Zone area that I think a lot of people suffer the same, this is a great product for that.

M-A-C Studio Fix Fluid - I swapped from benefit foundation to M-A-C in April and it makes such a difference, I pay a little bit more for the foundation but its been a month now and I can't even see a dent in the bottle and I use foundation every day without fail.

M-A-C Prep and Prime - This gives my foundation a longer lasting life and just helps with better coverage.

Hopefully it won't take me as long to put up my May favourites. Enjoy the rest of the month!

Pick yourself up!

“No amount of falls will really undo us if we keep on picking ourselves up each time. We shall of course be very muddy and tattered children by the time we reach home. But the bathrooms are all ready, the towels put out, and the clean clothes are in the airing cupboard.” -C.S. Lewis

There's a lot of times in life where I thinking giving up is just the easier option, that somethings are just to difficult  and not worth it. It means instead of seeing things through to the end there are a lot of unfinished projects in my life.

I may have decided something was to time consuming, or I no longer wanted to do it. Or I had stumbled, fallen at a hurdle and didn't want to carry on.

But as long as we continue on the ending will be worth it, the journey will teach us so much more about ourselves. Open up a new part of our personalities. The destination will be comforting reaching a goal that you previously thought you would never get to.

I have three things in my life right now I want to see through. One is short term and two are long term goals. I am determined that no amount of falls will determine who I am!

#MusicMonday: Wetsuit - The Vaccines

Ahhhhh... I forgot how much I loved this song! I stumbled upon it again when listening to a playlist on Spotify... one of my oldest friends and I used to stay up really late and send each other songs to listen to. She sent me this one and it just reminds me of summer and feels so upbeat. I can't believe how old this song is now... 2011 seems like both yesterday and another lifetime ago.

enjoy!
